Adoption below expectations as Samsung remains regionally concentrated, Chinese brands are pulling back and it remains dominated by just two brands. Display Glass Revenues Rising Despite Soft Demand

Display glass shipments declined in Q3’24 and are expected to decline further in Q4’24. Domestic Chinese glass makers have been adding Gen 8.5 capacity in 2023-2024. DSCC estimates that display glass revenues are expected to increase 13% in yen terms in 2024, but this translates to only a 5% increase in US$ terms.Read More

DSCC Reduces OLED Tablet Market Outlook on Weakness at Apple and Delays in Foldable/Slidable Devices

2024 OLED and MiniLED tablet panel volumes are expected to rise 71% Y/Y to over 11M, but down 15% vs. last quarter on lower-than-expected demand for the OLED Apple iPad Pro. Apple’s 2024 Advanced Tablet share is expected to reach 51% in 2024, up from 38% in 2023, but below previous expectations of 56%.
