OLED Panel Shipments Rebound in Q3’23 on Y/Y Growth from Smartphones, Monitors and Tablets

As revealed in DSCC’s latest release of the OLED Shipment Report – Flash Edition, OLED panel shipments increased 18% Q/Q and 14% Y/Y in Q3’23 to 205M units (Q2’23 saw a 1% Y/Y increase). The Y/Y growth for several applications is a welcome sign indicating that inventory has started to rebalance for some categories after Y/Y declines in 2022 and in the first half of 2023. In Q3’23, by select OLED applications, OLED smartphones panel shipments increased 12% Q/Q and 25% Y/Y in units and OLED TV panel shipments decreased 14% Q/Q and 40% Y/Y in units. New MicroLED Forecast Shows Smart Watches Taking the Lead

Flat Panel Display Oversupply Will Continue Into 2024

The challenging oversupply environment for the display industry in 2023 will continue into 2024, according to DSCC’s Quarterly FPD Supply/Demand Report, released last week. According to DSCC Principal Analyst and CFO Bob O'Brien, “Although we expect a modest recovery in demand for display products, and this recovery in demand will reduce the gap between supply and demand, there will continue to be excess capacity for both OLED and LCD in 2024.”Read More
