Soon-gi Park
Principal Research Scientist | LetinARABSTRACT
LetinAR successfully launched its first evaluation kit “T-Glasses” which are lightweight and small form factor smart glasses made of plastic optical combiners. Though plastic optical waveguides are challenging in manufacturing, LetinAR’s PinMRTM (mirror) and PinTILTTM (Total Internal reflection minimized Lightguide Technology) made it possible to overcome the tolerance of plastic optics. In this talk, we would like to introduce the concept of LetinAR’s newest technologies and how they could allow the fabrication of lightweight plastic optical combiners without compromising the high image qualities in a glasses-like form factor.
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Soon-gi Park is a principal research scientist leading Advanced Research Team of LetinAR. His research is focused on optimizing the optical specification of see-through optics using various optical techniques and simulation while keeping the form factor as small as possible. He joined the LetinAR May 2018, and before joining LetinAR he researched various 3D display optics including autostereoscopy, multi-focal displays, light field displays and holography. He received his B.S. and M.S in Information Display from Kyung Hee University, South Korea, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Seoul National University, South Korea.
