Presentation Abstract:

Mike Lee, Compound Photonics’ President of Corporate Development, will present CP’s Microdisplay Technology Platform, that departs from the legacy “frame based” paradigm, by driving microdisplays with a revolutionary concept that is based on each individual pixel control. This game-changing platform is architectured to be scalable and flexible, in order to enable various emerging microLED technologies and to remove all key barriers to the true AR/MR/VR experience needed for widespread consumer adoption. In his presentation, Mike will overview the industry effort of taking content from the phone to the eye, and how the recent global pandemic has further motivated companies and individuals to invest in productivity for remote and virtual collaborations. In the near future, AR/MR headset projects will be further accelerated along with the 5G network coverage, which will drastically expand the capabilities of real-time mobile data processing. As of today, CP is the only player in the global AR/MR/VR eco-system to tape out a functional backplane that can be customized for ultra-compact pixel sizes and MIPI-based advanced drive architecture for microLED. Mike will share the company’s roadmap and how CP is ready to enable global brands and key microLED makers to accelerate the time to market for their display sub-subsystems and channels.
