Dr. François Templier
Program Manager, Displays | CEA-LetiBIOGRAPHY
François Templier is Research Director at CEA-LETI. From 1993 to 1999, he was with Thomson LCD (now Thales Avionics LCD) where he developed new a-Si TFT processes for active-matrix liquid crystal displays. Since 1999, he has been with CEA-LETI, Minatec Campus in Grenoble, France, where his research activity is focused on advanced displays, more particularly emissive microdisplays, flexible displays and Thin-Film Transistors. Between 2013 and 2017, he has managed the development of GaN microLED displays. Since 2017, he is Displays Program Manager at the Optics and Photonics Department.
Dr. Templier is a Fellow member of Society for Information Display, where he is currently Director of the French Chapter.
ABSTRACT
Challenges and Solutions for Fabricating High-Resolution and Very Small Pixel-pitch GaN LED Microdisplays
High-brightness GaN-based emissive microdisplays are very attractive for new applications such as Augmented Reality. We will review the keys challenges to develop them, and focus on some solutions developed at CEA-LETI to overcome them.
