Dr. Siegfried (Siggi) Dirr

The Next-Gen Digital Cockpit:

Innovative in-vehicle displays offer seamless design, advanced technologies, efficient use of energy and cost-effective haptic systems. In this session, Elektrobit’s Dr. Siegfried Dirr will discuss the company’s agile and iterative approach to developing a unique UX cockpit prototype integrating Android Automotive, Unreal Engine and generative AI for personalized voice interactions for a seamless software experience with automotive cockpit HPC hardware and middleware. Dr. Dirr will demonstrate unique software solutions that enable an HMI design that can evolve over the vehicle lifecycle, offering flexibility for branding, localization and customization requirements.

Dr. Siegfried (Siggi) Dirr is Head of Strategic Business Development at Elektrobit, an awardwinning and visionary global vendor of embedded and connected software products and services for the automotive industry. Siggi has been with Elektrobit for more than six years and as Head of Service Engineering he led a team focused on creating exceptional digital cockpituser experiences. He plays an instrumental role in Elektrobit’s partnership with Sony Honda Mobility and the new AFEELA where Elektrobit is responsible for providing software, hardware and integration services for the vehicle’s complete cockpit.

A pioneer in the mobility community, Siggi was previously a director at e.solutions GmbH, a joint venture between Audi Electronics Venture GmbH and Elektrobit Automotive GmbH to further infotainment development. Since 2020, e.solutions has been a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG with the aim of further strengthening the software expertise of the Volkswagen Group. Siggi also held postions at Nokia and Ericsson, where he focused on mobile communications and product development.

Siggi earned a PhD in OLED technology from the Technical University of Braunschweig.
