ABSTRACT

CMOS Backplane Design for LEDoS Micro Display

This presentation aims to provide an overview of the most recent advancements in CMOS Backplane technology designed for LEDoS (LED-on-Silicon) micro displays.

The focus will be on the utilization of a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) driving scheme in conjunction with MiP® (Memory-Inside-Pixel) technology.

Furthermore, the presentation will delve into the prominent challenges currently faced by the industry that need to be effectively addressed.

BIOGRAPHY

Myunghee Lee is an industry veteran with 30+ years of experience in mixed-signal IC design.

He is Founder and CEO of Sapien Semiconductor Inc., an innovative fabless design house focusing on Display Driver ICs for micro-LED displays.

Recently, he was an Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology), Ulsan, Korea.

His industry career includes Sr. VP at Hyundai-Autron, an automotive semiconductor division of Hyundai Motor Group,

VP at Samsung System-LSI Division, Giheung, Korea, managing Display Driver IC (DDI) Development Team,

and an Integrating Manager managing a world-wide R&D organization at Agilent Technology, San Jose, CA.

He received his B.S. in Electronic Engineering from Hanyang University, Korea, in 1984,

a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, in 1990,

and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, in 1996.
