MicroLED Technologies for Reducing Display System Cost and Investments
Although the LED chip is one of the tiniest parts of a microLED AR or Direct View display, its makeup greatly impacts the overall display cost and viability of this new display category. Material composition, chip size and arrangement, and wafer size determine not only the cost of the microLED but also the impact of downstream assembly processes and the investment needed to scale to volume. The authors will present the latest microLED technology results and illustrate how they contribute to substantially lowering display system manufacturing costs and investment.
