OLED Revenues Expected to Increase 12% in 2024 Led by Triple Digit Growth in Tablets

- Q1’24 OLED revenues rose 13% Y/Y on 50% Y/Y unit growth.
- 2024 OLED revenues are expected to increase 12% Y/Y on 18% unit growth helped by a richer mix.
- OLED tablets are expected to rise at triple-digit rates on a unit and revenue basis thanks to Apple’s 11.1” and 13” OLED iPad Pro’s.
As revealed in DSCC’s latest Quarterly OLED Shipment Report, OLED panel revenues increased 13% Y/Y in Q1’24 to $9.3B on 50% Y/Y unit growth. For 2024, we expect panel revenues to increase 12% Y/Y to $44B on 18% Y/Y unit growth. Several applications are expected to have unit and revenue Y/Y growth with OLED tablets and OLED monitors enjoying the fastest growth.
In 2024, by select OLED applications:
- OLED smartphones are expected to increase 21% Y/Y in units and 3% in revenues with flexible OLEDs increasing 13% Y/Y and foldable OLEDs increasing 26% Y/Y;
- OLED TVs are expected to increase 24% Y/Y in units and 17% Y/Y in revenues;
- OLED tablets are expected to increase 202% Y/Y in units and 632% in revenues as a result of growth from Apple and the 13” and 11.1” iPad Pro models.
- OLED monitors are expected to increase 80% Y/Y in units and 45% Y/Y in revenues.
By panel supplier for all applications, we expect SDC to lose revenue share as a result of gains from BOE, LGD, China Star, Tianma and Visionox.
