DSCC, AUO, VueReal and Porotech to Present Latest Market and Technology Trends in MicroLEDs and AR/VR at the SID/DSCC Business Conference

The future of MicroLED and AR/VR displays will be discussed at the upcoming SID/DSCC Business Conference in San Jose, CA. Organized by DSCC for the 8th consecutive year, the Business Conference will take place on the first day of Display Week, the world's leading event focused on emerging electronic display and visual information technologies. The following speakers will present during the in-person event on May 13, 2024:

With over 300 attendees annually, the SID/DSCC Business Conference is the largest event dedicated to the business aspects of the display industry, covering the main market segments, such as smartphones and TVs. AR/VR has been covered since 2021 to reflect the increasing importance of this category in the display industry.

Dr. Guillaume Chansin (DSCC) will present the main technology and market trends for AR/VR displays, with updated forecasts from the DSCC report on the topic. Although the last two years have been disappointing, AR/VR is still one of the fastest growing market segments for displays.

Dr. Reza Chaji (VueReal) will describe a turnkey platform the accelerate the adoption of MicroLED in AR/VR. Leveraging an innovative and eco-friendly micro-pixel manufacturing process, the platform enables the seamless transfer of microLEDs and other microdevices with unparalleled efficiency, reliability and performance at scale.

Dr. Tongtong Zhu (Porotech) will give an update on the company’s roadmap for commercial production of AR products, including AR glasses, micro-projectors, microdisplays and various wearable devices. By establishing the world's first semiconductor MicroLED ecosystem with partners, Porotech has successfully bonded 0.12” microdisplays on 8” GaN-on-Silicon wafers.

Jennifer YC Lin (AUO Corporation) will discuss the new possibilities that MicroLED displays enable. AUO has worked on MicroLED display technology development for over 10 years and has set many records with various demos. As a pioneer in the field, AUO is dedicated to enabling and contributing to the formation of MicroLED display ecosystems through seamless collaboration with LED and display industry partners.
